The 66th running of the Irish 1000 Guineas was held on Saturday 23rd May 1987 over 1 mile of The Curragh. The winner won €90,475. The winner was owned by Mr Paul Mellon, trained by Ian Balding and ridden by Tony Ives. The winner won by a short head in 1 minute 43.9 seconds, with 1 1/2 lengths between second and third. |
